Dear Parent/Student,
Thank you for inquiring about the upcoming driver education classes. The potential prevention of one car crash is well worth the price of a driver education program. Enrolling your son or daughter in a driver education program is an investment in their future towards becoming a safer driver. Statistics show that graduated licensing programs have saved many lives.

DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM
Our Driver Education Program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) instruction as required by the State of Hawaii. Furthermore, Hawaii requires that the program be taught in no less than six weeks.
TUITION
Please go to our Discounted Tuition page to see a list of discounted fees.
REGISTRATION
Please go to our Teen Program page to learn how to register and make payment.
Note that there is a parent orientation that at least one parent per student is required to attend. Please refer to the schedule for appropriate day and time.
All instructors are State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation certified.
Subject to Hawaii State Law, Chapter 19-122-251 of the Hawaii Administrative Rules requires that the driver education program (including classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction) be not less than six weeks long. When taking classroom instruction from one school and BTW instruction from another, instruction with each school must be taught over a period no less than 6 weeks long. When taking the classroom and BTW instruction from the same school, it may be taught concurrently over a 6 week period of time.
CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION
Year-round classroom sessions are ten each 3-hour classes, eight 4-hour or five 6-hour classes. Our Spring, Summer, Fall, and Christmas break classroom sessions are either five each 6-hour classes, eight each 4-hour classes or ten each 2-hour classes. It is recommended you register early for these sessions. Please refer to the yearly classroom schedule on our Schedule of Classes page for class days and times.
CLASSROOM LOCATION
Map: 99-165 Moanalua Rd., Suite 101 is located in the “Aiea Village Square.” When driving Town Bound on Moanalua Road, turn Oceanside at Aiea Heights Drive. You are now on Kauhale Street. Turn into the first driveway on the right. Just past “Daiichi,” the building on the right, there is another building further away Mountainside. We are in the suite with the tinted windows located under the “Smooth Tea” sign on the Diamond Head, ground-floor corner, Suite #101. This would be the best drop off area for classes. There is a short walk along a fence to the classroom. You may drop off, pick up or park in the stalls in front of the classroom. When visiting the office, please be sure to park in the smaller (Aiea Village Square) parking lot where HDI is located. You may only park in the Aiea Town Square parking lot on the following days and times: Saturdays any time after 1:30pm, all day on Sundays and M-F any time after 4:30pm. Other than these limited times, DO NOT park in the Aiea Town Square parking lot.
We are in the same area as our old location but in a different building with its own parking area. See our detailed map. Get driving directions here.
ALTERNATE ROUTE TO CLASSROOM LOCATION
Another access point to the Aiea Village Square building and classroom is to turn Oceanside at the traffic light North or Ewa of Aiea Heights Drive at Heleconia Place. It is a narrow and steeper 2-way driveway. Within 75 feet, turn left again into a narrow parking lot. This parking lot is small and narrow (you may park in this parking lot too). Drive straight until reaching the Diamond Head corner of the building where our suite is located under the “Smooth Tea” sign. You may drop off, pick up or park in the stalls in front of the classroom. You may exit by driving up the narrow ramp alongside the building or by turning around and exiting the way you came in. Again, when visiting the office, please be sure to park in the smaller (Aiea Village Square) parking lot where HDI is located. You may only park in the Aiea Town Square parking lot on the following days and times: Saturdays any time after 1:30pm, all day on Sundays and M-F any time after 4:30pm. Other than these limited times, DO NOT park in the Aiea Town Square parking lot.
PARENT MEETING PARKING
Note: The parent meeting will be held at 1:45pm of the first Saturday classroom meeting. Parents may unofficially park in the adjacent Aiea Town Square parking lot at that time only for the 45-minute parent meeting. Please do not park there on Saturdays before 1:00pm as the parking attendant will ask you to leave. See our detailed map.
BEHIND-THE-WHEEL (BTW) INSTRUCTION
Behind-the-wheel sessions may begin anytime after first 18 hours of classroom instruction. This overlap enables the student to develop good driving habits by immediately applying what was learned in the classroom. This will allow for the information to be built upon and reinforced.
NOTE: We do NOT offer BTW Only instruction for Teens at this time. We can only accommodate BTW instruction for students who complete classroom instruction with our school via our Teen combo classes.
BEHIND-THE-WHEEL SCHEDULE SIGN-UPS
Students will be partnered with a classmate and sign up in class for six (6) separate 2-hour BTW sessions. First BTW session to be no sooner than after first 18 hours of classroom instruction. Last BTW session to be completed no sooner than 6 weeks after start of classroom instruction.
AVAILABLE DAYS AND TIMES
7 days a week, between 6:30 am-7:15 pm
PICK-UP/DROP-OFF POINT
In front of the classroom.
LOCATION OF BTW SESSIONS
Various roadways as specified by the lesson plan.
